WiMLDS Mentorship Week-2

For this week I was assigned the task of looking at some NLP professors and their works/ publications. I looked at professors from IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Delhi and IISc. Most of the professors from IISc are no more teaching at the institute, so you can only have a look at their previous works.

Other than this, I understood that there is a difference between pure NLP Research and a combination of NLP and interdisciplinary fields. If you are a CSE student, then you can take pure NLP research as more of like TOC , Parsing and Knowledge Graphs. So if you think you like these, you can definitely give a shot to research in such areas.

If you are someone who likes some research and some development, then you can look at IIIT Delhi professors publications. And also, it’s always good to go through some papers before diving in the research. For NLP, you can look at ACL and find papers of your interest.
